Fullmoon is a Multiplayer Half-Life 2 modification built on the Orange Box version of the Source engine.
The game is set in the present day in the Scottish highlands. A group of British Army soldiers have been sent into a remote part of the mountains to hunt down and kill what has been reported to be a giant dog. The creature is causing civilian casualty's in the glens and local villagers are terrified to go outside at night. The soldiers arrive at their destination just before sundown on the evening of the new years first full moon. As night approaches the soldiers are radioed by their commander that they must meet with a man living in the forests as he holds some vital information on the beast they are about to encounter.
Gametypes:
*FM_
In the FM_ game type there are 2 teams: Werewolf and Army. The Werewolf team starts with just 1 player whereas the Army start with the rest of the players on the server.
The Army's objective is to reach their "destination" marked (and only visible to THEIR TEAM) on the radar, to do this they are given an arsenal of weapons ranging from MP5s and SA80s to their simple hunting knives. These weapons do not harm the Werewolf team (except for the knife that does a small amount of damage), but do push them away and make it difficult for them to attack.
The Werewolves objective is to kill as many Army members as he can before they reach their "destination". To do this he is equipped with his claws, teeth and brute strength, he must tear and slash the opposition to pieces. He has the ability to sprint faster, jump further and cannot be seriously harmed at this point in the game. The more Army members he kills at this point the easier it will be for him when the second sage in the game begins.
Once the Army have reached their "destination" they are equipped with one rifle loaded with 10 silver bullets. These silver bullets take off 75% of a werewolf's health with just one shot, a deadly weapon against them.
However, once the Army have reached their "destination", all the Army players that had been slayed in the beginning of the game now re spawn as Werewolves to continue the final fight.
The levels in this game type are designed to give the Army players a reasonably long trek to their destination, giving the Werewolf enough time to plan a few attacks. The "destinations" are set in different parts of the map but all quite close together, so as not to give the final end point of the army away to the werewolf too soon. The "destinations" are chosen at random from 2-3 each time the round restarts.
*DF_
In the DF_ game type there are 2 teams: Werewolf and Army. Both teams start with an equal number of players on each side.
The Army's objective is to try their best to barricade themselves into a strong-hold or safe-house type building using the old boards and wood they find laying around while an oncoming hoard of werewolves descend on the location. To do this they can pick up boards and wood and nail it against doors and holes in an attempt to hold off the press of slashing werewolf claws.
The werewolves only objective is to slash and smash at their defense, finding the weak spots and exploiting them until a breach is made and they can poor in and devour their prey.
However, time is running out for both teams as a rescue helicopter is fast approaching their location. It is only a matter of time before the Army are able to escape their strong-hold but are they going to run out of boards before that time comes?
The levels in this game type are built in sections or areas that are made as choke points for the main battles and defenses of the game, there is only a certain amount of barricade material in each section and the player must use it wisely to buy as MUCH time as possible out of each section. |
