The rumor that the prequel of STALKER: Shadow Of Chernobyl will not be published by THQ has been proven to be true!

Originally, it was said that Clear Sky would have been handled by GSC World Publishing, but it is now confirmed that GSC World Publishing will only handle distribution within Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, and the Commonwealth of Independent States (for more information of which countries fall under the CIS, please look here).

Apparently GSC Game World and Koch Media have cooperated before, and have announced a new partnership. It has been revealed that Clear Sky will be published under the labels of Deep Silver and GSC World Publishing. Koch Media is a leading marketer of software, such a partnership really sounds promising and beneficial for the next instalment of STALKER.

It is the opinion of this STALKER fan that whatever direction the developement of Clear Sky under Deep Silver will take, it can only be better than under THQ.

Here is what the two parties have said about this new agreement.

"The unique atmosphere of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. caused a sensation among gamers, while the sales have demonstrated the brand's enormous potential. We are delighted with this chance to publish the prequel together with GSC under the Deep Silver label."

And as a bonus, GSC have released three new screens of Clear Sky. They feature already revealed locations an situations, but still don't fail at making the game look so damn juicy.







GSC Game World were also kind enough to release a new calendar this month. They come in English, German, French, Spanish, Russian, Czech, Hungarian and of course Polish.
